Consistency.
It feels elusive.
It requires effort—consistent effort.
It’s developed by overcoming the tendency to do the least amount possible.
Secretly, we hope success comes easy, without hard work.
Not logical—but human.
A player backchecks hard, catches their guy—then stops.
A team ties the game—then the other team makes a run.
Why?
✅ A belief the work is done.
✅ Exhaustion.
✅ Relief.
✅ A hope the other team will give up.
✅ All of the above.
Consistency is simple.
Don’t confuse it with easy.
And don’t confuse consistent with perfect.
We love consistency because it creates predictability.
But we think it has to be dramatic.
We tell ourselves:
❌ “I can’t do this—I’m bad at it.”
The irony?
We’re consistently saying we can’t be consistent.
Here’s what’s worked for me:
✔ Start.
✔ Track obstacles.
✔ Problem-solve.
I needed better self-care.
I started with meditation.
I looked for where I was already consistent.
✅ I set aside time. Didn’t do it.
✅ I scheduled time. That worked.
✅ I added streak charts and reminders. Even better.
✅ Then? I noticed positive changes.
It moved from:
Should do → Want to do → Need to do.
That’s mental fitness.
Let’s change the conversation.
