The Pain Brain.
Aka PB. We’ve all experienced it. It sucks. Physical pain. Emotional pain. It all sucks.
The Pain Brain is scared of the worst. And when it gets loud, it can turn into a Brutal Brain. Ever use the old “trick” of punching yourself to distract from something else? I did when I was eight. By ten, I knew it didn’t work.
Pain is a motivator. The goal is to avoid it, but you can’t. Unexpected pain happens. If your nervous system isn’t trained, the Pain Brain instantly shifts into Brutal Brain. Fixed mindsets. Anger. Fear. Crashing out.
If you can’t stop the attack, the recovery is brutal. It’s like a hangover. You swear it won’t happen again. But the Pain Brain always returns.
The good news? You can train your nervous system.
The world — and social media — does it covertly. It trains you to keep watching. Not to perform better.
So what have you been overtly taught? What has been modeled for you? I rarely see alignment.
We rarely acknowledge that we need a plan for being amazingly imperfect. Your training purpose needs to address that. Does yours?
The key is understanding that amazing doesn’t happen without imperfect.
Want to learn how to purposely train your nervous system? Our keynotes, trainings, group coaching, and one on one coaching will transform your results. When the Pain Brain enters the chat, you’ll know exactly what to do.
