Don’t Let Your Ghosts Run the Show

Boo! 👻

Welcome to Mental Fitness Fridays — I’m Hans.

We’re all scared of boos. They’re not a treat — they’re a trick we have to get through.

I’ve been watching Chad Powers — it’s about a disgraced college quarterback who blows the national championship game and tries to rehab his career by posing as someone else. A mask. He can’t forgive himself. Haunted by failure, he self-destructs.

Spoiler alert: Living in fear of being found out is exhausting. Chad leaps because he believes in his football skills — and wants to believe in himself. He can’t candy-coat the loss. He just trades one fear for another. Either way, he’d be found out.

He’s literally an imposter. When the mask comes off, he tells his friend he deserves bad things. He’s right — because he keeps making choices that make it true.

It’s spooky. I’ve heard that from athletes. I’ve thought it myself. Chad’s ghosts run his life.

So… what ghosts do you need to forgive? Let go of? Make a conscious decision and just start. Don’t let your disguise hold you back. Don’t jack around — light a lantern. Ghosts and vampires hate light.

Shine bright, and fear won’t take a bite out of your performance anymore.

Schedule a keynote, and we’ll help you create the conversations your team needs to forgive their ghosts — and leap to the next level.
The results we get? Scary good. 🎃
