Embrace the Extra

October 02, 2026•1 min read

One part of mental fitness is learning how to embrace the extra.

It's no coincidence that extraordinary starts with extra.

If you want to climb the ladder of performance and move to the top of the bell curve in your field, you need to embrace the extra.

The extra isn't always fun because it takes extra time. Finding any extra can feel like a huge challenge.

That's because it is.

But the extra doesn't have to be big.

It can be an extra five minutes of stretching and foam rolling.

An extra five minutes of breathing.

Five more minutes lifting, on the treadmill, bike, or elliptical.

An extra five minutes of visualization.

Go to bed a little earlier.

Eventually, those extra minutes add up to something even bigger.

Here's my challenge:

Make a list of 100 things you can do to embrace the extra.

Start with the first 10.

Then do 10 a day for 10 days.

Reach out if you want help embracing the extra.

We can help through one-on-one coaching, team trainings, keynotes, visualizations, books, and online classes.
